Disability and the Church Workshop

Stephen Tracey, M.Div. - Stephen is a pastor in Lakeview OPC, Rockport, ME. He is married to Sharon and they have four grown children and four growing grandchildren. Stephen currently teaches a course for the OPC on Disability and the Church. He regularly volunteers to serve with Joni and Friends.
Suzanne de Boer, M.A. - Suzanne has worked in education and special education for over 50 years in Michigan, California and Maine. She started special education programs in two different K-12 Christian schools in California and became the Director of Special Education for one of the schools. Her specialty is in assessment of children with learning disabilities and teaching children with learning disabilities using evidence-based curriculum. She has also worked with many children with Aspergers who also have learning disabilities. She currently works as a consultant for two different island schools off the coast of Maine - North Haven and Vinalhaven.
Sonja de Boer, Ph.D., BCBA-D - Sonja has worked in special education for about 30 years in many states across the country, as well as Ireland and Australia. She is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst specializing in designing and implementing applied behavior analysis early intervention programs for children with autism spectrum disorders. She has written books on inclusion of children with autism in the general education environment and on evidence-based interventions and does trainings around the world on working with children with autism. She currently works as a part-time Behavior Analyst for Sheepscott Valley School District RSU12 and as a part-time Director of Special Education for Vinalhaven island school.
